Adopt A Water Body Program

ADOPT-AN-ESTERO PROGRAM

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Central Luzon, in partnership with the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) and CRL Environmental Corporation, signed a Memorandum of Agreement yesterday at the CRL branch laboratory in Clarkfield, Pampanga. Present in the said signing were DENR Regional Technical Director for Protected Areas, Wildlife and Coastal Zone Management Service (PAWCZMS) Arthur C. Salazar who represented Regional Executive Director Maximo O. Dichoso; CRL Environmental Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Elizabeth P. Romualdo and; Clark Development Corporation Environmental Management Department Manager Juan Miguel Fuentes. The primary goals of this project are to clean and monitor the water channels by mobilizing certain communities and to encourage them in a regular clean-up activity.

Under the MoA, the DENR with its partner communities and agencies are to conduct community training and community livelihood programs relating to waste reduction as well as to provide information campaign to motivate people in cleaning-up their respective sites. This project is a collaborative undertaking among the estero communities, donor-partners, Local Government Units (LGUs), Other Government Agencies (OGA) and the DENR to promote and achieve a cleaner, safer and healthier environment.
